The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) is a volunteer supported program that helps individuals better understand their Medicare benefits. Trained counselors help with Medicare questions, health insurance and long term care insurance questions and more. The program gives unbiased information to help you make the best choice for your health care needs. HICAP does not sell, endorse, or recommend any specific insurance. To help reduce the risk of wildfires and improve reliability, PG&E is working to underground 130 miles of powerlines in El Dorado County through 2026. This includes seven miles of powerlines in the Sierra Springs area, with three miles of that work happening along Starkes Grade Road, and another 12 miles of undergrounding in and near Pleasant Valley and Placerville.
To safely allow construction equipment and supplies to enter and exit Starkes Grade Road,
temporary traffic controls and closures may be needed.
• May occur Monday-Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. through June 2025.
• Emergency vehicle access will be provided at any time.
• Temporary closures will not last more than 15 minutes.
