Spotted a fawn and not sure what to do? Please, take a beat!  Most fawns are just waiting for mom nearby, but if something feels off, the best first step is a call to the pros. Our trained team will help you decide what’s needed (and what’s not), so every fawn gets the right kind of care.  Fawn Line: (530) 678-FAWN | (530) 678-3296

Urgent Consumer Alert Issued for Grapevines Purchased at Northern California Costo Locations

The El Dorado County Agricultural Commissioner is advising residents to take precautions after the invasive glassy-winged sharpshooter (GWSS) was found on grapevines delivered to Costco stores throughout California. Residents who purchased grapevines or other plants at Costco between April 21 and May 26, 2026, should:

  • For ALL plants: Contact the El Dorado County Agriculture Department at (530) 621-5520 or email eldcag@edcgov.us immediately to schedule pick up of grapevines and/or inspection of other plants and receive guidance on how to prevent further spread and infestation of the glassy-winged sharpshooter.

  • For grapevines: place two garbage bags over plants and secure them tightly.

  • For other plants: use the contact information above to schedule Agriculture Department inspection.

  • Do not attempt to return, transport or relocate plants.

  • Do not place plants in the trash or compost bin.

El Dorado Irrigation District News

EID Maintains Strong Financial Position in 2025 Annual Report

The District’s fiscal year 2025 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) includes the results of an independent audit showing that EID ended 2025 in a stronger financial position than the previous year, primarily due to continued investment in capital assets, including infrastructure and facilities that support reliable water, wastewater, recycled water, hydroelectric, and recreation services.

The District’s capital assets, after depreciation, increased compared to the prior year, reflecting ongoing investment in system improvements and long-term infrastructure needs.

The report also noted that Facility Capacity Charges, fees collected from new development to offset their impact on the District’s infrastructure, exceeded budgeted expectations and increased compared to the prior year. This was largely due to increased development activity within the District’s service area.
