FOREBAY COMMUNITY PARK UPDATE
NCE (the civil engineering firm that the county has contracted with) completed their resubmittal of their 35% plans, which the county staff subsequently approved. They are currently working on 65% plans as well as doing some additional site analysis including coring samples and inspections of the electrical system. NCE continues to make progress on 65% plans. Specific areas of progress this month were around verifying fire access and turnaround requirements, restroom standards and configuration, grading of the play areas, and assessment of the existing electrical panels capacity.

El Dorado Irrigation District: Celebrating 100 Years of Service: 1925–2025
In 2025, El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) celebrates a remarkable milestone: 100 years of dedicated service to the community. Formed on October 5, 1925, by county residents, EID’s original mission was simple but critical—providing water to support local agriculture. At that time, water wasn’t just vital for farming; it was the lifeblood of gold mining. As miners panned for gold in the rugged mountainsides and streams, they found that water rights were even more valuable than the gold itself.
While the county has evolved significantly over the past century—with a growing population, expanded services, and modern infrastructure—EID’s core mission has remained steadfast: delivering safe, reliable water and related services in a fiscally responsible manner.
