Pacific Gas & Electric News

California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approves a rate increase for (PG&E) in 2025:

  • Amount

PG&E's 2025 rate increase is expected to be 1.6%, which would increase the typical bill by about $4.50.

  • Purpose

The increase is to fund expansion projects, such as adding more charging stations for electric cars and connecting new homes to the grid.

  • Commitment to customers

PG&E says it's working to limit average annual combined gas and electric bill increases to no more than 3% through 2026.

PG&E Wildfire Safety Webinar

Effective at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, CAL FIRE will no longer require a burn permit in the State Responsibility Areas of Alpine, Amador, El Dorado and Sacramento counties. Residents MUST verify it is a permissible burn day prior to burning by calling their local Air Quality District: • El Dorado (5️3️0) 6️2️1️-5897

Cooler temperatures and increased relative humidity across the region have lowered the threat of wildfires; however, residents are urged to continue to take precautions outdoors to prevent sparking a wildfire. Before you burn, ensure it is a permissible burn day, make sure piles of landscape debris are no larger than 4 feet in diameter, provide 10 feet of clearance down to bare mineral soil around the burn pile, ensure that a responsible adult attends at all times with a water source and a shovel, and never burn on windy days. Remember, you are responsible for always maintaining control of your fire and smoldering piles can still contain enough heat to ignite vegetation. For more landscape debris burning tips, visit ReadyForWildfire.org.
