EID Board Approves 2024–2028 Capital Improvement Plan, Authorizes Issuance of Proposition 218 Notice Regarding Proposed Rate Increases
At its meeting on October 23, the El Dorado Irrigation District Board of Directors adopted the 2024 – 2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The five-year CIP allocates approximately $321 million to enhance and maintain EID’s extensive infrastructure over the next five years. Road Construction News
Pony Express Trail Safety Upgrades Slated for Spring
A pedestrian and bicycle safety improvement project is on the horizon for Pony Express Trail in Pollock Pines, expected to commence in spring 2024.
The improvement work includes construction of a multi-use bike and pedestrian path along the stretch of Pony Express Trail from Sly Park Road to Sanders Drive.
The project, which is now estimated to cost more than $4 million due to inflationary spikes, would also include new signage, striping of the roads and lighted crosswalks; the crosswalks are located at Forebay Road, Cox Street, Sanders Road and one at 50 Grand Restaurant.
The project has been in the planning stages for five years, according to Department of Transportation Director Rafael Martinez, who recognized the community's need to improve safety along Pony Express. Read more here and here.
