CEDAPP members are dedicated to a prosperous and healthy community and offers many opportunities for all interested residents of Pollock Pines including, but not limited to, the support of local businesses and our local economy; to creating various events throughout the year for residents and visitors to celebrate, enjoy and enhance the quality of life and sense of community right here in Nature's Wonderland. We would be pleased to provide you with any kind of information about our local non-profit organization in regards to what we do, what we have planned, and/or how you can become involved at a level that you are comfortable with. A sample of the events that we hope to continue to provide to our community are: the Judy Morgan Clean Up, the Hands Across Pollock Clean Up Day, National Night Out, Trunk or Treat, and Trees for Teens. Our many services to the community can only function with the assistance of community volunteers, without which, they will sadly cease to be. If you and your family enjoy these events, please consider volunteering a few hours to ensure that they continue. You can choose to assist with any event...in whatever way that you're comfortable with. Please consider joining like-minded neighbors for the betterment of our entire community. Flume 48 Replacement Update
EID crews seized a brief break in the weather to undertake repairs on Flume 48, a segment of our 22-mile-long canal and flume system that's essential for delivering drinking water to our customers. Constructed originally of wood in 1876 and sitting atop an un-mortared, hand-stacked rock bench north of Highway 50 near Camp 5, Flume 48 has served us well but is now showing its age and is in desperate need of a comprehensive overhaul. After a complete replacement in 1948, the time has come again for major work. Today, our dedicated teams completed repairs to prolong the wooden flume until the design is complete to replace the wooden sections with a more permanent material.
Why this matters: The stakes are high. Without timely action, deteriorating conditions could lead to flume failures, impacting the public, Highway 50, and the South Fork of the American River. Up to a third of our water supply could be jeopardized, potentially interrupting the steady flow of water for consumption and hydroelectric power generation.
Jenkinson Lake reached 100% capacity on February 7th! What does this mean for the rest of the year? It means a secure water supply for 2024, a head start on supplies for 2025 in case drought conditions occur, and an excellent recreation season at Sly Park.

STATE ADOPTS UPDATED SRA FIRE HAZARD SEVERITY ZONE MAPS, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2024
-> -> See the El Dorado County Map here.
The CAL FIRE - Office of the State Fire Marshal began the regulatory process for the State Responsibility Area (SRA) in December 2022. They held 59 public hearings and provided 174 days for public comment. After carefully reviewing more than thirteen hundred comments, adjustments were made to the map, which resulted in just over 123,000 acres receiving an updated designation. The final regulation and map were adopted on January 31, 2024, and will become effective April 1, 2024.
